MSc International Human Resource Management

Dear Class of 2026/27,

It is my great pleasure to welcome you to the MSc International Human Resource Management (IHRM) programme at the University of Edinburgh Business School. I am very much looking forward to meeting you all and working closely with you throughout the coming year.

This programme will offer you a range of compulsory and optional courses specifically designed to enhance your critical understanding of people management and international HRM policies, and contemporary HR practices. As a CIPD-accredited programme, we also place a lot of emphasis on developing practical skills essential for a HR professional. This is especially important in today’s increasingly globalised world of work, shaped by complex global challenges, socio-political tensions, and changing expectations of organisations and employees.

The curriculum for IHRM programme is designed and delivered by a group of renowned academics who undertake world-class research across a wide range of disciplines, with a particular emphasis on international perspectives. Our courses feature innovative elements such as research-informed teaching and opportunities for interaction with HR practitioners and experts. You will also be joining a vibrant and diverse community of students and staff at the Business School, as well as the University of Edinburgh.
