Dear Class of 2025/26,

Welcome to the MSc Banking Innovation and Risk Analytics programme.

I am delighted that you will be joining our programme at the University of Edinburgh. You were selected from a highly competitive pool of applicants and should be very proud.

The programme has a distinctive focus on financial institutions especially banks. Over your one year of study, you will be able to develop a thorough understanding of financial innovation, banking operation and risk management, banking regulation and supervision, as well as analytics techniques in relation to banking and financial services.

Our programme will provide many opportunities to meet and network with leading financial institutions, central banks, government bodies and practitioners. It will help you learn how to put the latest academic thinking and research into practice. This programme is accredited by the Chartered Banker Institute and you will be eligible to apply for Chartered Banker Member status once you complete the programme of study.

The University and all staff have and will continue to make extraordinary efforts to provide our distinctive education in these unprecedented times. We will adopt a flexible approach to teaching and learning to ensure a safe and effective educational experience.
