Programme Director's Welcome

Dear Class of 2025/26,

It is my great pleasure to welcome you to the MSc Human Resource Management (HRM) programme at the University of Edinburgh Business School. The HRM programme is designed to support the learning of current and future managers and leaders in the area of Human Resource Management. This function has never been more important than now, as the world of work moves to adapt to new challenges presented by new forms of work organisation such as hybrid work and algorithmic automation, against the backdrop of grand societal challenges such as climate emergency and ageing populations.

The structure of this programme follows the principles of CIPD professional accreditation framework designed to provide you with a wide range of conceptual insights and analytical tools. The curriculum is designed and delivered by a group of renowned academics who undertake world-class research across a wide range of disciplines, and our courses feature innovative elements such as research-informed teaching and opportunities for interaction with HR practitioners and experts. You are also joining a vibrant community of students and staff at the Business School, as well as the University of Edinburgh.
